FG26/4 · Provider identity
Provider identity mismatches can block a structurally reliable register
FG26/4 requires the service-provider Legal Entity Identifier in Field 2.03, with “N/A” where an LEI is unavailable. The practical problem is keeping that identifier aligned with the legal entity represented across contracts, procurement and risk records.
Do not treat a supplier display name as a legal identity
Commercial systems often store trading names, abbreviations and parent-group labels. Before mapping a provider into the register, distinguish the contracted legal entity from a brand or group name and preserve the source that supports that identity.
LEI presence is not the same as identity consistency
A syntactically populated LEI field is not enough if the identifier points to a different legal entity from the contract or supplier record. Structural readiness means the legal name and identifier refer to the same provider record, or the mismatch remains an explicit exception.
What Audital flags
- significant name or identifier conflicts across approved sources
- missing provider identity information needed to assemble the record
- cases where a value exists but cannot be traced to an agreed source
